Every year, the Mission-Aransas Reserve gives out a Coastal Champion Award to an individual that has made an impact on the work that the Reserve does. This year's award went to Georgia Neblett, the Director of External Affairs at UTMSI, and was the Executive Director during the initial years of the Reserve. Georgia has been a key reason for the success of the Reserve since the beginning, helping to secure millions of dollars in funds for infrastructure, networking with folks to get things done, and recognizing a vision for what the Reserve is today. Georgia is the third recipient of the Coastal Champion Award along with Dr. Paul Montagna from 2016 and Sally Palmer from 2017. Congrats to Georgia!
