Join us for a workshop geared to help business owners and area merchants become better prepared to handle flood and storm events!
When: Monday, October 17, 2016
3:00pm - 5:00pm
Where: Bay Education Center, 121 Seabreeze Dr, Rockport, TX 78382
Cost: FREE! Refreshments provided.
Who should attend: Business owners, merchants, tourism industry leaders, municipal officials, and any others interested in improving resiliency from a business or tourism perspective.
Why attend: Through completing the Tourism Resilience Index, you will become better prepared and identify how you will maintain operations during and after disasters or other flood-related events. This helps both you and your community improve overall resilience. Coastal tourism in our area also benefits, since we are taking the time to identify strengths and weaknesses in its system and then address those concerns and gaps.
What is the Tourism Resilience Index? This is a self-assessment tool that was developed for tourism industry leaders and businesses that helps examine how prepared we are for disasters. We plan to walk participants through this guide and share flood readiness strategies specific to our area. For more information on this and other resilience indices, check out this link. Download the PDF here of the Tourism Resilience Index.
